PROJECT SUMMARY
The one-acre site with its burned out derelict farm house has remained an eyesore for the community for years.
Previous contractors had attempted to obtain planning permission on the site but failed owing to the sensitivity of the site, due it being in a conservation area and locally listed.
JSG’s design teams worked tirelessly to please both planners and the surrounding community to come up with a scheme that satisfies all parties. The burned out farmhouse had to be retained, and two new builds were permitted, to be built in the grounds. The Farmhouse was completely burnt out with just the masonry brick structure remaining, it has now been refurbished back to its former glory, in line with the conservation and local listing guidelines.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Very difficult planning process, due to the sensitivity of the site, with the planners and locals. Construction of a farmhouse, that was exposed to fire, structural damage and neglect, all the while having to construct it to its original state and finish.
